BREAKING: Cincinnati, Ohio TV Station WCPO Shows Election Night Results with Obama Win on its Website

October 21, 2012 by texasdarlin

Why does WCPO have election results posted online 16 days before the election?

One of several screenshots taken Oct. 20, 2012

Here’s the page where WCPO at this writing still has the “results” posted: http://media2.wcpo.com/html/elections/elections.html

On Twitter, they are @WCPO

      Odd????. . . no . . . ELECTION CHEATING and HORRIFYING .. yes!!

  6. on October 21, 2012 at 10:16 pm Mike Dolanson

I worked at local TV stations for years. Stations test their on-air and online systems in the weeks leading up to elections. Random results are put in to make sure everything is ready and then zero’ed out. Occassionally, something isn’t right and it appears on the screen for a second or on the website for a brief time. That’s all. There is no fix — unless you’re paranoid.

    • on October 21, 2012 at 10:18 pm texasdarlin

That “test link” has been live for at least 24 hours, still is as I write this.

      • on October 21, 2012 at 11:31 pm james

        Yeah…. “random” test

    • on October 21, 2012 at 10:19 pm George Payne

I would rather be paranoid than a sheeple.

    • on October 21, 2012 at 11:03 pm cbas

So why not put all zeros in the results instead of random numbers?

      • on October 22, 2012 at 3:12 am Jim Wafwot

Why no put exact numbers for each party so they show 45% – 45% ?

    • on October 22, 2012 at 12:38 am Reidmere

I own a radio site, and when working on “test” pages that you want to have live, you put it on an unlinked URL, not your homepages.
      Any professional tech knows this.
Poor excuse: And this is coming from a programmer and web dev.

      • on October 22, 2012 at 11:52 am Stephen

“And this is coming from a programmer and web dev” LoL!

        • on October 22, 2012 at 2:31 pm Mashiki

Their point is valid. It would be the same as you working for Cisco, and having a development box plugged directly into the internet. Then claiming as people downloaded buggy, half-non-working software and firmware that bricked routers, switches and/or servers…that well it’s their fault that it didn’t work. Instead of yours, for not having an internal development machine, on an internal only network.

    • on October 22, 2012 at 8:14 am Sheik Yerbouti (@YerboutiSheik)

Why has no one ever seen this before, if it’s a routine thing?

      • on October 22, 2012 at 5:32 pm Krislin

I think it probably happens often but it is tests of stuff no one cares about.

    • on October 22, 2012 at 9:23 am bodyman2692

given the PROVEN bias of mainstream media outlets, I consider this to be a broadcast version of a Freudian slip.

    • on October 22, 2012 at 2:16 pm Nat

Is that fair though if your guy is so far behind according to this set of numbers some idiots out there might actually believe these number are early voting numbers and not go vote they really shouldn’t test that way

yeah like that matters Michelle! They are so crooked it’s ridiculous! How many executive orders has Obama pushed through without any congressional consent! It makes me sick! He is a liar and will try to do anything to continue his socialist agenda!

The page just got scrubbed about 2 am EST Monday morning. I looked at the page at about 1:30AM and it still said the results. Just checked again and Presidential numbers are now at 0 and so is the percentage of precincts reported=0%. But if you scroll down there are still some results from other states, offices and a couple of amendments. Apparently the fish and game law in Kentucky is not going to pass. :)

  18. on October 22, 2012 at 2:03 am John

Did anyone get a screen shot of the results that they can pass around to media outlets?

    • on October 22, 2012 at 9:15 am texasdarlin

Yes, I have screen shots. One of them is shown in the post.

  19. on October 22, 2012 at 3:00 am Doris

If it is found that B.O. won by voter fraud – it won’t be prez anyway!!!! But there would sure be a lot of investigations and justice done.

    • on October 22, 2012 at 8:11 am Lori Chadd

yeah remember your answer when the republicans are found doing the same. oh wait they already were

      • on October 22, 2012 at 2:10 pm Tony

Yes, the Republicans were caught stealing an election. We all know this because it was in the talking points that were released by the DNC.

Give me a break. 99% of the time there is voter fraud, homeless bums payed with cigarettes to vote, voter registration fraud, “uncounted” ballots “found” in the trunk of someone’s car after the initial vote count or elections with more votes cast than there are voters registered, it is the Democrat who wins. It is Democrats who oppose every effort to ensure that voters are actually eligible to vote.

And before you try to claim that GWB stole the election in 2000, review the events in the Florida recount. No objective person could come to any conclusion other than that it was Gore who was trying to steal the election.

    • on October 22, 2012 at 8:02 pm Bob

There won’t be any investigations and there will be no justice. Those things happened in America. I’m not sure where we are living now.

Why would anyone in Ohio or anywhere else re-elect a C- President?

  23. on October 22, 2012 at 9:41 am Myles Astor

Especially since Tagg owns all the voting machines used in OH. Real fix there.

      Ridiculous!!!!

Question: Can someone explain why a lot of celebrities support Obama? Does the government give them a bunch of money? I’m trying to understand why certain groups support Obama. Could someone please respond.

  28. on October 22, 2012 at 11:28 am Jennie Handke

It’s all reset to 0% now. CBS did this same thing in Arizona today. http://times247.com/articles/cbs-news-affiliate-calls-election-for-obama-2-weeks-early

  29. on October 22, 2012 at 12:07 pm Guy S

Some will claim this is simply an accident as stations prepare for the election and test pages for broadcast. Sorry, I’m not buying it. I interned at a PBS TV Station in Boise, Idaho as a cameraman and believe you me, the directors are anal about what is and is not done. And that’s PBS! To say that an ABC or CBS affiliate would ‘accidentally” run something like this stinks to high heavens! ~ TAP

  32. on October 22, 2012 at 12:51 pm WCPO Responds to Election Graphic | Lady Liberty 1885

[...] Cincinnati, Ohio TV Station WCPO Shows Election Night Results with Obama Win on its Website The reply I received was this: [...]

  33. on October 22, 2012 at 1:59 pm mike lawrence

So, I contacted WCPO and asked them what this link was. I got a call 5 minutes later and they explained that it was, in fact, their testing server. He went on to point out that it is not a public link and was not intended to be seen by the public since it is a testing server. He explained they do several runs before the election, each time putting in different numbers just for testing purposes. (I confirmed this – when I go to the link now, it says 22% reporting) He said AP does the same thing.

Being in the IT security business, his story makes sense. If you’re still thinking this is a conspiracy, the best thing to do is save the page each time it changes and then compare those saves to the actual results on election day.

If they are not different, I will call them back. ;)

  34. on October 22, 2012 at 2:02 pm mike lawrence

PS – the URL is not linked. Somebody found it by other means. I will tell you it does not show up in a search for “WCPO election results” But this page does.

    Hmmm….

Do a little research and you will see who is doing the counting of votes. You will know BEFORE the voting who is going to win. Just google (who is counting the votes). HAHAHA. It is a set up. He will win again and and we are in trouble.
