IF you allow it to, I believe fame can take you places where character cannot sustain you. Over time, I suspect some people slowly water-down their sense of justice/decency to suit their own agendas. As time goes on it gets easier and easier to break the trust of the very people who elected you. Not getting caught just emboldens dasterdly actions. Behavior changes only with acknowledgement/acceptance of your wrong-doing. Remorse at being caught affects no change—remember an unrepented Nixon rationalizing his abhorrent actions as POTUS. He allowed the nation, his family and supporters to believe in his innocence knowing full well that he was complicite in Watergate. He disgraced himself and the office of POTUS.
Rangel and Waters need to spare the nation the misery of their illegal actions. Both should do the right thing and resign.
More likely cases of selective persecution as a preemptive measure against the Clintons. Since virtually every aspect of Team Obama’s foreign affairs continue to fare poorly, I suspect that media criticism of Hillary’s “failures” will follow. How far Obama has to go to keep Hillary in a box depends on how much fight the Clintons have left in them. Obama’s people appear to be good at nothing other than gutter politics. At that they excel.
“quietly resign and then quickly die”???
This type of nasty sentiment is rarely expressed here. While I am no fan of Obama and I would be overjoyed at his resignation, I would NEVER wish him or anyone else such ill-will.
I took it as a sarcastic swipe at our new Obamacare, but even if it was an honest sentiment I don’t have any real problem with it. Regular folks are tired of being bullied by our DC politicians. What was true in our kindergarten days is still true in the real world. Thugs and bullies are enabled by good people who sit by quietly waiting for somebody else to stand up. Bullies prosper by abusing the good people who pride themselves on civility and decorum. They count on it. In the grand scheme of things expressing a little ill will towards thugs and bullies no longer offends my sensibilities.
So how long before Maya Angelou gets her audit notice from the IRS?

I’m sure Scranton4Hillary can speak for her/himself, but I think this may be the poster’s interpretation of Obama’s comment re Charlie Rangel:
“But these allegations are very troubling, and, you know, he’s somebody who is at the end of his career, 80 years old.”
“I’m sure that what he wants is to be able to end his career with dignity,” Obama says, “and my hope is that happens.” Copyright 2010 National Public Radio. To see more, visit http://www.npr.org/.
In my view, this is only a prelude to what is going to happen to many Black Elected officials.
I forsee an end to most of the Black Organizations and Blacks being pushed to the back of the bus.
The M.L. King dreams and days of the Civil Rights Movement has been reversed in many ways.
I also forsee that all officials of all races will be investigated, and if found guilty of crimes, will have to face serious punishment.
Why do you think IRS employed so many new persons, and a Law was passed to prevent felons, and many others from recieving checks from the Government. There is obviously a silent Audit being conducted on many persons in the US.
Many of the Churches are also being investigated, doors are closing, and bankruptcy is the norm.
These are sad days for America.
These 2 are not the only ones being investigated many of the Black pastors, and even poor workers are being forced out of jobs, homes, and business.
Many in our small town are being given drug and alcohol test and if found to be dirty, is dismissed on the spot. There are many ways in which this what i call it “clean house lash” is being enforced.
The Hispanics are also going through, in their case they are being harrased, fined, jailed, raided and deported in great numbers. The Arizona law is being enforced in many of the States under cover.
I haven’t been here in quite awhile but am glad to stop by because THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I SAID!!!
Rangle didn’t support Obama and now he is being punished by the sulky little boy who is inhabiting the White House.
I also thank you for celebrating Chelsea’s wedding. The snarky comments from most blogs/media made me feel ill.
Obama has a mean-streak a mile wide. What will he do to the American public when he finds that we have all turned our backs on him? …..although many of us never supported him in the first place.
Hi TD,

TD– So good to hear from you again!

Well, there’s the obvious. What else?
They both were early supporters of HRC for POTUS, before black bandwagon and caucus cheating time.
Are these cases of selective prosecution?

Not only did they support HRC, they are OLD! Take our wonderful fearless dear leader’s advice and quietly retire then quickly die.
I would prefer to hear from Mr. Rangel and Mrs. Waters have to say for themselves, who knows what interesting issues may pop up during questioning.

Re-read Lizzy’s comment. She was suggesting that this is what Obama wishes Rangel and Waters would do.
he is very vengeful.they were Hillary supporters
