Watch out for the 2010 hurricane season, which of course will be George Bush’s fault.
Even though — incredulously — Pres. Obama didn’t know whether he had fired Elizabeth Birnbaum from her position as Director of Minerals Management Service in the wake of the Gulf oil spill, everyone else knows that he did.
Question: Why was Birnbaum, over whom Obama gushed just last year in announcing her appointment, fired if George Bush’s appointees are really to blame, as Speaker Pelosi asserts?
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., blamed the Bush administration for any lack of oversight leading up to the Gulf oil spill. The Obama administration, on the other hand, is blameless.
From Talk Radio News Service:
“Many of the people appointed in the Bush administration are still burrowed in the agencies that are supposed to oversee the [oil] industry,” Pelosi said when asked if Democrats could have prevented or mitigated the crisis by keeping a closer watch on the industry.
Added the Speaker, “the cozy relationships between the Bush administration’s agency leadership and the industry is clear…I’ve heard no complaints from my members about the way the president has handled it,” Pelosi stated.
On Friday, the Washington Examiner requested that Speaker Pelosi’s office release the list of Bush appointees to whom she was referring. We’ll let you know when we hear back.
If there have been “no complaints” about how this administration has handled the oil industry, I ask again: Why was this administration’s appointee fired? Why not fire all the people on Nancy’s list instead?
Alternatively, why not fire Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, who — according to Obama — had “not gotten around” to reforming the MMS?
I teach 6 year olds. Pelosi blaming the Bush administration for the inept handling of this terrible oil spill is right on par with the famous “my dog ate my homework” excuse. The only difference is that I know the 6 year old is telling the truth– once in a while.

agreed, at first glance I think somone has caught a huge error. In the wonderful world of cover-ups, I think someone erred on overkill cover-up. This could get very interesting.

There’s a new book out, A MOSQUE IN MUNICH: Nazis, The CIA & The Rise Of The Muslim Brotherhood In The West, by Ian Johnson. It gives a lot of background on CIA efforts to use Muslims in fighting communisim.
In regards to the birth issue, I think we will everntually find the CIA is involved in covering for Obama. Obama was involved with the CIA as a young Muslim who did work for the agency in Pakistan during the Afghan war with the Soviets.
The reason Obama could call on Bill Clinton to offer Sestak a job so he would drop out of the Senate race was this common CIA connection and elitist club to which they both belong. Things are done in an underhanded way and little thought is given to the legalities. (It is so common, Sestak didn’t realize there was a legal violation when he spoke up on the issue.) When Clinton was in Moscow in his student days, he also undoubtedly worked for the agency.
They, both Clinton and Obama, ended up as President. (Bush had a CIA connection, too–his own father and previous President.)
Where our country has gone off course is in oversight over the Intel community–CIA, NSA, etc. They are doing things, running things, as a 5th arm of government, loyal to their elitist club over everything else. They know better.
