Who tipped off Larry Kane?
They are all lying. Here’s what happened:
Bill Clinton was recruited by Obama via Rahm Emanuel to ask Sestak to step aside because Sestak and the Clintons go back. Clinton was authorized by Obama to offer Sestak a “high level position in the administration,” such as Secretary of Something. For whatever reason, Bill Clinton agreed.
No one — not Bill, Barry, Rahm, etc. — ever imagined Sestak would acknowledge that he was offered a job to drop out of a Senate race. They were horrified when he did!
Clinton wasn’t used as the messenger because the White House wanted to avoid liability, as some news outlets are speculating. He just happened to be the messenger in this instance because of his relationship with Sestak. For Chicago Obama & Co., this kind of thing is such business as usual, they don’t pause for a moment to think about legal consequences.
This is what Obama has always done: he kicks candidates out of the way. See, e.g., Alice Palmer, Steve Israel, David Paterson, Andrew Romanoff, etc.
We, the public, little stupid people that we are, now are supposed to believe that a messenger of former President Clinton’s stature was used to offer Rep. Sestak an unpaid part-time advisory position on behalf of the White House? Yeah right. And my name really is Texas Darlin.
Supporters of Sestak have been urging him to save his own ass and disclose details. However, Sestak needs Obama and the Dems for career reasons, which is why he has been coy in offering details. So the lie was hatched, and all parties were briefed: Bill and Barry had lunch Thursday and Sestak’s counsel (his brother) was called by the White House yesterday. The White House issued its 2-page explanatory memo this morning, and Sestak quickly backed it up with his own official statement. End of story, they hope.
The key question in this matter is who tipped off Larry Kane in the first place?
The key question is what they are blackmailing Bill Clinton with. In his position, after being branded a racist by the Obists, I wouldn’t give them the time of day. But he’s been carrying water for them since the primary ended.
I do think at the end of the day Bill Clinton is a die-hard loyalist to his party.

Bill Clinton is a loyalist to the party. And the party is in trouble. Obama is toxic to the party.
The only thing that would make democrats turn on Obama is saving the party and their asses.
I think Bill saw an opportunity and shared it with Sestak. That opportunity was not accepting an offer to drop out.
If only they could find a way to get the story in the press. They might have some leverage.

Bill Clinton does not do anything for “free”. The Clintons always end up on their feet; it will be interesting to see how this all turns out.

I agree with your assessment of what happened, but what I can’t quite get a handle on is the why. They’re all lying and they’ll continue to lie until they’re hauled before a grand jury. At least one of the principals has been known to lie even under oath.
The premise of the bribe to Sestak is predicated on the notion that the White House needed to protect Specter. Why? Why protect Specter at all? He was nothing but a controlled vote going into November and his polling numbers have been marginal at best for his last two election cycles. Specter’s value to the White House had come and gone already. He’s a liability. Sestak as a junior senator would also be a party-controlled vote, but one with the hook buried even deeper. Exactly what is it that gives Specter such value? Certainly nothing overt.
And even more baffling to me is why Bill Clinton would carry water for Obama at all on this. What’s in it for the Clintons? If Sestak is/was such a Clinton ally why would Bill undermine Sestak’s bid for a Senate seat? A Senate ally is certainly more valuable than a House Rep. Bill doesn’t give anything away for free.
Back to the issue of actually getting at the truth… since some of the principals involved in US Atty Fitzgerald’s ongoing Chicago political corruption probe are the very same principals involved in this new DC debacle, might Fitzgerald’s reach extend to Sestak’s mess? Could this be why Eric Holder sees no reason to appoint a Special Prosecutor?
What makes me curious is what’s NOT being said.

Hello old friend! So good to “see” you again. I share your curiosity regarding Joe Sestak and what is NOT being said. I personally want
him to tell all to the nation. Deception and half truths most always lead to character destruction and total loss of credibility. Mr. Sestack has proven he does not need the democratic party to be successful. I pray he will conduct himself in the senate with the same authority, wisdom and decisiveness he displayed on the bridge of his aircraft carrier. Where this quid pro quo debacle will lead is a mystery which only Mr. Sestack can reveal.

I’m not a believer in the ends justifying the means, however, if the exposure of this criminal act brings down this administration (and I am not holding my breath) I am ok THUS FAR with Bill’s involvement in the ‘means.’ Or at least I am suspending judgment.
I would not be ok if Sestak accepted a bribe presented by Bill, but he didn’t and oddly at this point it doesn’t sound like Bill tried very hard to sell it. I have no more patience for politicians that cheat us of fair elections. NONE.
I am ok, however, with Bill conspiring with another Blue Dog to expose the most corrupt administration in history before Obama turns our country into Chicagonia.
There is no ‘law enforcement’ when it comes to these thugs. It wouldn’t surprise me if Bill was asked to make an illegal offer to Sestak (or more than one) so he presented the offer as such (illegal) to Sestak (who declined it) and together they decided what to do to expose the information.
Things ain’t adding up and some things smell funny. Sestak, a democrat, casually accused this administration, which is so thuggish they recently outed one of their own for having gay tickle-fights, of committing an impeachable offense??
And Sestak didn’t bat an eyelash when he blabbed again and again either.
Where did Sestak get the balls to do that? Did he borrow Bill Clinton’s??? He must have felt pretty confident that he could prove what he claimed at the time….or corroborate it.
And the decision to stay tight lipped on what job he was offered: He was baiting the right and those with inquiring minds, surely he realized that. If he didn’t know it the first time he spilled it, he did by the second.
Anyway, I am anxious to see where, if anywhere, this goes. It’s plain to me the Democratic Party is in critical trouble and Pelosi will not be ‘Majority’ anything very soon if they don’t cut the cord with Obama STAT.
Obama’s fauxgressive base still self-righteously and wrongly believe that they are ‘liberal’ and ‘antiwar’ so they vote their fauxgressive candidates over the bluedogs and moderates in the primaries, however there’s ZERO HOPE for those obama-aligned fauxgressives to win the general elections against anyone remotely conservative. You can smear Rand Paul as being against civil rights and he still polls 7 points ahead of Conway in a state that went all Hillary in 2008.
Obama has buried the democratic party, no one is really taking about it, yet I believe this fact is as critical or more so than Bush’s influence on Republicans the 2008 Presidential election.

this is all curious. I want to know when the white house meeting between President Clinton and That One was scheduled. was it a last minute thing? President Clinton’s silence on all of this speaks volumes to me. could it possibly be that he was duped into a “meeting” with Obama not knowing that he was going to be used for the story? knowing how Obama operates that wouldn’t surprise me at all. here’s the thing ~ get President Clinton involved and the press follows that scent like dogs and that muddies the waters. I don’t believe ANYTHING that comes from the White House. liars all. this just smells to me. the meeting with Clinton makes it look like he was in collusion with the WH on this, and I simply don’t believe he was or is. I think Prez Clinton has been blind-sided with this and I’m hoping it is the final straw and Bill and Hill will break from Obama over this one. I don’t believe either one of them has any respect for Obama and they are only associating with him to keep an eye on things. I am glad that Hillary gets those daily national security briefings. She and Bill are the only two I trust.

No matter how much drama these pieces of corruption create, the outcome will be the same as it would have been without all the drama: a Republican will win the seat. The irony is delectable.
