Update 9/28/08 10:12 AM ET: Watch the video carefully. Notice that the public prosecutor states that Missouri officials will be joining Obama’s Truth Squad to remind Missourians that Barack Obama is a “Christian.” Does that mean that Missouri police will threaten and possibly arrest anyone who questions Obama’s religion? If Missouri public officials are SO concerned about truth-in-advertising, why don’t they open a non-partisan Truth Squad to review ALL ads?
ALSO, be aware that the Obama campaign has sicced its legal team on stations in Pennsylvania and Ohio, urging them to refuse to broadcast NRA ads attacking Obama’s anti-gun positions. I’d like to see the results of Obama’s efforts thus far to intimidate media outlets; have any refused the ads? Public officials running for elected office are fair game when it comes to speech, the normal definition of libel does not apply. The Obama campaign knows that they have no legal basis to challenge critical speech and they don’t care; their actions are designed to get results via intimidation. The Missouri officials should be fired.
I am now officially afraid. If Barack Obama is elected, are we destined to become an Orwellian police state?

ONE.Are these public officials going to be monitoring Obama’s commercials against McCain using the same standards, or is the Truth Squad only working on Obama’s behalf?
TWO.What standards and investigative methods will these public officials use to assess whether an ad is “untruthful?” Is it whatever the Obama campaign tells them, or are they planning to conduct objective tax-payer funded investigations to be sure that ALL the presidential ads from both sides are truthful?
THREE. Is this Constitutional? I am pretty sure that political advertising is not subject to truth-in-advertising guidelines.

What I thought was extra bad was how the police are not only supposed to stop lies, but also give a propaganda spiel. This is surely not in their job descriptions! and probably is breaking some other laws.
Things must be pretty corrupt in McCaskill’s sphere too. I remember a few months ago someone connecting her with a construction company with construction in Chicago, related to ? maybe the Olympics or crummy housing developments. Is there more there?
Scary is right! Obama and his team do nothing but lie. It seems illegal if anyone connected with law enforcement in a state enforces any laws only to suit one person.

Two houses with 1/8 of a mile of mine have proudly displayed their Obama signs for many months. Both signs are now worn and faded, but have remained there (without molestation or removal) for nearly nine months. I pass both signs every day.
Two days ago, I traveled to the local GOP office to get my long-awaited McCain/Palin sign. Though I had called in advance and was told that I could get a whole stack to give to my enthusiastic neighbors, because of the exceptionally high demand it ended up that they could only give me one sign, which I happily accepted.
After I placed my new sign on my property, any guess as to how long it lasted before it vanished?
Less than 24 hours.

McCulloch and Joyce have no legal leg to stand on. Why? For starters, Obama is a public figure. Good luck winning a suit like these when the Plaintiff is a public figure.

The only thing that keeps me sane after more than 3 months of following Barky’s POTUS eligibility misrepresentations is knowing that I’m not alone. But I sure wish that there were a heck of a lot more of us that would see the light.
But at this point, I believe he is going to be made ineligible. It’s just a question of how it breaks. The Republicans have to know about the birth certificate issue. What’s most interesting is how the talking heads of the right (Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, etc) are not talking about the issue at all. Barely a word.
The closer to the election that ObamaGate breaks, the greater the loss will be to all Democrats in the House and the Senate. The Republicans could end up controlling the presidency and both houses, which come to think of it, wouldn’t be such a bad thing.

Tonight I copied Gov. Blunt of Missouri ’s statement condemning Senator Obama’s campaign for conspiring to subvert the First Amendment rights of the citizens of Missouri, to the editor of my town’s local newspaper.

That’s the second link with negative coverage of Obama I’ve clicked on this morning that is gone. The first was a link to a History Channel board with comments on the new Obama gestapo in Missouri. It came from a Google search but the page was “not found”.
Jeezus, they’re not even being subtle any more.
Listen to the video about 45 sec in and you’ll hear that the prosecutors and sheriffs are “joining” the Obama truth squad. Joining??? And you’ll hear that they are “reminding people” that Obama is a Christian who is for lowering taxes on those making under 250k. I wonder if they will also be at polling places to “remind people?”
The point here is – are anti-Obama ads, even one that is arguably provably false, a crime? If not these people should not be involved. I think there is no crime other than what these people are perpretrating themselves. And they know that. They know they won’t ever charge anyone they just want to intimidate any, say, 527 planning an ad with the possibility that they will have to defend an expensive case.
I think because of time frame what would help most is for someone with high legal stature to state that any case brought this way would be thrown out in a heartbeat with the victim able to recover damages from those that brought the case. That might undo the intimidation which is all that can be hoped for at this point.

We can only hope that who ever the ruling jurist is on this that he or she has the intestinal fortitude to stand up for our constitutional law and demand that such unequivocal proof of legal birth and citizenship is indeed proven. There are people already complaining about the lack of ammunition for deer season, and shotgun ammunition. It would than appear evident that we can keep our second amendment rights. We just can’t buy ammunition for those arms guaranteed us in the Second Amendment of the Constitution. Personally I don’t buy into this type of thinking. Obama must be prevented from being elected, or should one say, appointed, president, then the little bit of American freedom we have left will soon be gone.

I used to be a Democrat. That was when I lived in Texas, which was most of my adult life. When I moved back to my home state of California, I changed to Republican because the Democrat party in California had become extremist. For example, the Democrat Attorney General had displayed a piece of “art” in his office, a painting of the American flag being flushed down a toilet. In spite of public outrage, he called this art and defended his right to display it in a public office. (This was a product of the government’s Endowment for the Arts, by the way. The so-called artist said it was his way of protesting the war in Iraq.)
This single example represents an ethos in the Democratic party in California–a Rev. Wright type of ethos– that is not only unAmerican but anti-American.
I now live in Nevada. A Democrat friend of mine, a Hispanic and Hillary supporter, confided in me that he witnessed first hand the bullying tactics of the Obama people at one of the caucuses. He was a delegate. He said it was outrageous the way they operated. He then confessed to me that he was now voting for McCain, not because he believed in McCain’s politics, but because the very issue of democracy itself was at stake. He said, “McCain was fairly selected in the primaries. Obama was not. If Obama becomes President, it will be by foul means as it was in the Democratic primary and democracy, itself, will suffer. American will become like a Third World country where party bosses run the show.”
Based on this TD post, it looks like Missouri is leading the way with my friend’s prediction. All we can do, as I see it, is continue to get this kind of information out and let the better instincts of the American people come to the fore.
If Obama is elected, Hillary will never see the White House, he will make sure of it.

Matt Blunt is a good, decent, and honest man, and Governor. As such, he’s been shamefully attacked since he first entered politics. As governor, he’s done good things in MO, keeping spending in line, for one thing. But he’s not running for re-election, even though this is only his first term in office.
He was talked about, early on, as a possible VP nominee. His viability as a candidate (Governor or VP), however, was destroyed by MO’s MSM, which shamelessly participated in a trumped-up, Troopergate-type of “scandal”, which so far has amounted to a load of nothing, but which damaged his candidacy.
I believe that he’s leaving politics, for the time being at least, simply because it isn’t worth the effort it would take and the toll upon his young family to endlessly fight both his political opponents AND the MSM.
I’m glad that he made this statement. It may force the MSM sit up and take notice.
BTW, both McCullough and Joyce have websites. Both have links to their own “press releases.” It will be interesting to see whether either makes one. Or maybe both are lawyering up. This may be a case of violating civil rights under the color of law. Intimidation is as important as actual acts.
My guess is that the reporter is being grilled now (or indoctrinated with what to say next), and the spin will end up being that he simply reported the story wrong. That’s all. Right.
I’m interested in learning more about these “MO ethics laws.” Would these be laws relating to lawyers (like Joyce and McCullough)? MO laws about campaign finance or donation reporting?
Federal law, I would think, controls POTUS campaigns, not MO law. Local prosecutors and sheriffs would have exactly WHAT role in federal campaign violations? My guess is that if anyone had jurisdiction, it would be the U.S. Attorney for the St. Louis area: Catherine Hanaway.
I don’t care if this IS just a case of them exercising their own right to support the candidate of their choice. I would think that it’s certainly unethical to use one’s elected position to advocate for partisan purposes, while using an official title. It may also be illegal.
The story had their titles on the screen. The story STATES clearly that Obama’s campaign enlisted them, IN THEIR CAPACITY as law enforcement officials, to join this truth squad and help in its efforts. They may have been solicited AT their offices. We need to subpoena those e-mails or phone records, right? Don’t go scrubbing those servers, now. FOIA!
This is a partisan endeavor, which they seemed to have joined, since they’re standing inside and in front of his headquarters in St. Louis.
BTW, McCaskill is the 14th wealthiest senator. Her family’s money comes from nursing homes, which her husband owns or owned. She’s been on board with Obama, big time, since the beginning. It’s rumored that she had a feud with Hillary because of the way McCaskill got little or no support (money- or otherwise) when she was running for the Senate against Jim Talent. I don’t know whether this is true or not, but it’s interesting to take into consideration.
When McCaskill was MO State Auditor, she was a no-nonsense, go-getter. I don’t understand why she would support Obama in the first place, but for that feud with the Clintons, unless she’s simply fallen under his spell. Heretofore, I thought that she was an honest and dedicated public servant. Either that’s all a sham, or she’s simply being deceived by The One, like so many others seem to be.
An aside: Did you hear that the current “negotiations” in DC about the bailout are stuck on several issues, but in particular certain factions want to give ACORN (or other like entities) between 140 MILLION and up to 20% of the money, instead of any “profit” being turned back to the Treasury to repay the taxpayers?

Curious thought and question – IF Barry is found ineligible to be running let alone serve as POTUS, as many of us believe, then Barry and the DNC will be co-conspirators in perpetrating electoral fraud.
IF Berg’s lawsuit proceeds, and the truth unfolds that such fraud was perpetrated, could the party members who gave time, money and other resources to the DNC then file a claim AGAINST the DNC?

I have learned that the Obama Brown Shirts have sent threatening letters to television stations in Ohio and in Pennsylvania to television and radio stations to stop airing ads that the Obama Brown Shirts have deemed false.

What we are facing is a crisis of kind, not degree. In this century Wall street took these worthless mortgages and leveraged them up 30 to 100 times-THAT WAS CRIMINAL.
There were subprime crises in 1998 and 2000-default rates spiked off the charts. But without all the leverage wall street added in the 21rst century, it was controllable.
And then there was the selling and bundling of NINJA or “liar” loans. And the creation of financial instruments called CDOs that rumor has it takes a cray computer 2 days to grind through. Hundreds of billions of knowingly fraudulent and completely worthless loans were sold each year from 2003 to 2007-that is really what is killing us now.
So, dismissing this as all due to bad decisions 15 years ago really is deflecting the real problem.

Does the state of Missouri or the county that these three – Mcollough, Joyce and Boyer – enjoy employment as law enforcement officers receive federal dollars to augment their state or county budgets? If so, they could be in violation of the Hatch Act. I think we should do some research on this and if they are covered by the Hatch Act they should be prosecuted themselves to the fullest extent of the law. Right now I am going to do some research on the provisions of the Hatch Act.

RE: Hatch Act
According to Wikipedia an amendment to the Hatch on July 19, 1940 extends coverage to state and local employees whose salaries include any federal funds. The Hatch Act was appealed to the Supreme Court in 1947 and 1974. Both times the act was upheld. Amendments were proposed in 1987 which passed the house but not the senate. In 1990 a similar bill passed both houses but was vetoed by President George H.W.Bush and the vetoe overide failed in the house.
The Hatch Act covers any state and local employee whose salaries are included in any federal funds.
Recently laws were passed to aid local and state jurisdictions with federal money to bolster their law enforcement budgets.
I will try to do further research on this matter and if I come up with any information concerning Missouri will post it later.

I don’t know if this is the time or place to bring this up but since the news report included here makes an issue of Obama being a Christian, I wonder if I might elaborate on this?
For me there is reason to doubt his profession of faith. Would I be arrested in Missouri for expressing this?
The Muslim connection seems overwhelming to me and with the Shiite doctrine of Taqiyya–dissimulation–that one can use falsehood pretend to be of another religion for the ultimate glory of Islam–well, this creates a doubt in my mind given a whole list of items:
1. Barack claims he was never Muslim. But school records from Indonesia show that he was registered as a Muslim.
2. Slips of the tongue: When talking to Stephanopolous in an interview, he said, “My Muslim Faith,” instead of, “My Christian Faith.” He also said he was going to campaign in all 57 states. 57 is the number of Muslim states in the OIC in the UN. How could any American make these kind of slips of tongue? 57 instead of 50 states? Muslim instead of Christian?
3. Obama’s given name is Muslim. Both his father and step father were Muslims. Nearly all his siblings are Muslim. When he supposedly converted to Christianity, he kept his Muslim name rather than adopting a Christian name.
4. His former minister, Rev. Jeremiah Wright–his Christianity is suspect as well. It is known that he was previously a Black Muslim. This was reported in the New Republic. Louis Farrakhan, the current leader of the Nation of Islam, has been an honored guest in Wright’s and Obama’s United Church.
5. Farrakhan has also been an honored guest at the Shiite Mosque–the largest mosque in the U.S.–in Dearborn, MI. When Obama began his campaign, he had a private meeting with the leader of this mosque, Hassan al-Qazwini. Al-Qazwini presented Obama with his book, CRESCENT AMERICA.
6. In the film shown on FOXX, “OBSESSION,” Islamic Jihadist extremists boast that the Moslem flag will someday soon fly over the White House. Farrakhan, an honored guest at Obama’s former church preaches that it was not given by God to the Nazis nor the Japanese to bring down America, but to Islam.
7. Obama shows he is decidedly in favor of the Shiites over the Sunni. He is ready to use US armed force against the Taliban, even if it means going heavily into Pakistan (predominaely Sunni) and destabilizing a possible moderate development there. But he has been ready to make unconditional talks with the mad man leading Iran (predominately Shiite).
8. Why did Obama pick Biden for VP? That has been puzzling to me. But the latest edition of Naitonal Review shows how Biden has been soft on Iran. He even wanted to give Iran a huge grant after 9-1-1.
9. Hussein is the name of the martyr-founder of Shia Islam. Though Sunnis have this Arab name, too, it has a special significance to Shiites.
10. The nature of Obama’s parent’s marriage seems to have followed the Shiite doctrine of Nikah Mutah or temporary marriage. Under this law a Muslim can enter into a temporary marriage, even with a Christian or Jew.
11. Obama confessed to a New York reporter that the prettiest sound at sunset was the Muslim call to prayer. Would that be the prettiest sound to a Christian?
Then there is all the mystery concerning birth certificate, school records, etc, pastport, trips abroad, his wearing Islamic garb in Africa. The list goes on and on.
I am very suspicious of Obama’s Christianity. That’s all.

So, my question to you is… in the Indonesian schools he was enrolled in, did Obama recite some kind of pledge of allegiance to Indonesia for the 5 years that he was there? Thanks for the tip about thr existence of McCain “Truth Squads.” Because the reality of such groups is very upsetting, I
did a lile research on McCain vs. Obma Squads and came to the following conclusons.
McCain’s “Truth Squads” work by refuting false claims. They advise voters of the truth of an issue. I found no evidence of McCain’s spokespersons threatening or intimidating McCain’s critics.
Obama’s Truth Squads are Intimidaters who threaten anyone that criticizes Obama. For example, they have threatened the license of TV stations that run NRA ads against Obama. This is very different than what McCain’s people do, which is confront their critics directly. Obama’s Squads are not trying to promote truth but to silence critics–whether the critic’s claim is true or false.

Also,if the game was to get into hedge funds to make alot of money, and they basically bet on the failure of that said institution to collect, then what better plan, then to set up failure from inside. When will they investigate real scandals such as Obama’s relationship with Ayers, questions about his citizenship, etc.
On Mike Huckabee’s new show, during a conversation with Elizabeth Hasselbeck, he actually showed a clip of Jeremiah Wright. Maybe Obama will have his campaign sue Huckabee.

The population is to be relieved by the statement that the Obama prosecutor and law enforcement personnel (an oxymoron if there ever were one) haven’t SPECIFICALLY SAID that they are going to do what any REASONABLE person would conclude by their office and statements that they are, indeed, going to do???
If the ACLU were a protector of basic freedoms instead of an impostor seeking to end many of them, it would be among the first to strenuously protest this odious, obscene and most dangerous move.

He doesn’t just say their names , he says “top prosecutors…. sherriffs…” and stands infront of the Election Commissioners Office to do the reporting – sure no intimedation meant there. And re these prosecutors doing this on their own time — it is day time and they are dressed in business atire – sure the public is to believe they are not at work!! You’re absolutely right–socialism in its worst shape is coming to America if Obama gets elected.
And the worst part is that many people who will end up voting for Obama, wouldn’t know what they are really voting for. They don’t go to the blogs like yours, they don’t read long data-rich threads, they don’t watch scary YouTube kids-singing videos. We keep going down in polls because people listen to the huge propaganda machine–and take that BS at face value. What we need is an arsenal of conversation changers. These attention grabbers that make an impact in 5 sec. And THEN those whose opinions still can be changed may start reading more. Obama’s side if excellent in this. They have pros working around the clock on all sorts of visuals that go straight to the emotions level, bypassing the logic. Just take a look at this site to know what I’m talking about.
Can you name a single memorable anti-Obama poster that speaks to the center-leaning Democratic voter? I can’t. And to expose who Obama really is we need some of that. With my new blog and Facebook page I’ve started a new repository to fill this gap and hope it will take off, and will be used and extended by others. Who is our president? Anybody know?
