Via ABC’s Political Punch:

Electoral maps put together by the consulting firm helmed by Karl Rove, and obtained by ABC News, show Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, to be a stronger general election candidate in a hypothetical general election match-up against Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., than Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois.

Click HERE to see the maps and charts from Karl Rove & Co. provided by ABC.

Of special interest in the link, check out the two charts showing polling trends, and you’ll see that Hillary Clinton is the ONE candidate of all three who has had signficiant momentum from March through May.

Hope the Superdelegates are paying attention!

Really? Karl Rove said so, so it must be…right? Worth listening to? Honest?

    Karl Rove?

    Texasdarlin,

I’ve read some of your stuff and respect your opinion on most of it. You appear passionate and committed about Hillary’s candidacy, but this is ridiculous. Hillary should know better than to tout this as supporting her argument. She has an argument to make, but using Karl Rove just makes her seem desperate.

Even if you allow that Karl Rove can even do math how can you use this as credible evidence. This man, almost singlehandedly, is on the verge of destroying the Republican party. History will judge him not as “The Architect” but “The Destroyer of the GOP.” Manipulating the election system does not mean a cultural shift to the right.

kyle and john — you misunderstand the point of this post if you think i’m praising karl rove. the abc news story this is based on obtained this research from rove’s company, which is relevant if its’ what the GOP is looking at…that’s really the only point

…and why would Karl Rove ever lie??? Why, he’s the most objective and honest pollster I can think of!!! I just refuse to believe that Karl Rove’s polling firm would mesh together some results that were anything less than fair and honest and perfect in every single way!!! And there’s no way that Karl Rove’s firm, certainly a paragon of virtue itself, would ever let those results be leaked to the media with some bigger goal in mind. Certainly not Republican pollster, Bush confidante, Fox News Contributor Karl Rove!!!!!!!

    Please.

    texasdarlin,

Rush Limbaugh says that his Operation Caos got Hilary the popular vote in Texas using the legions of morons who faithfully listen to his broadcasts. I wonder if the knowledge that Obama is winning the nomination could have influenced the data on his charts?

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democrat Barack Obama has opened an 8-point national lead on Republican John McCain as the U.S. presidential rivals turn their focus to a general election race, according to a Reuters/Zogby poll released on Wednesday.

PRINCETON, NJ — National Democratic voters prefer Barack Obama to Hillary Clinton as the party’s presidential nominee by a 54% to 40%, according to May 17-19 Gallup Poll Daily tracking.

When Hillary finally concedes and then, later, at the Democratic convention. Those bumps, plus the increasing focus that will be applied to McCain, will result in the following states moving into Obama’s column.

Florida (McCain is currently +4 in the most recent poll)
    Indiana (Obama is currently +1)
    Michigan (McCain is currently +1)
    Missouri (McCain is currently +3)
North Carolina (McCain is currently +3)
    Ohio (McCain is currently +4)
South Carolina (McCain is currently +3)
    Texas (McCain is currently +5)
    Wisconsin (McCain is currently +4)
    Virginia (Obama is currently +7)

The only state I have any doubt about among these is Missouri. The SurveyUSA NC poll way undersampled the black vote. Total electoral vote that would shift from McCain to Obama with these states — 171.

Obama has a chance to get close to 400 electoral votes.
